Teaching

I’m passionate about teaching, especially on topics of gender, feminist/women’s movements, and violence. Teaching is a core part of my practice as a sociologist. I genuinely enjoy supporting students in the development of their sociological imaginations.

I’m committed to building classroom cultures of care and responsible dialogue.

As an educator, three of my main goals are:

  • To teach students to critically evaluate how social and historical context shape social relations.

  • To strengthen students’ application of intersectionality as method.

  • Support students in connecting their work in the classroom to their lives outside of the classroom, including their professional goals and political & social justice activities.

I’m happy to share syllabi upon request.
